I learned how to ski at age two. My poor mom had to not only lug her skis and poles, but also my skis and poles, and me! I guess she darn near broke her back in order to give me the gift of skiing! Thanks mom! When I got a bit older, my dad taught me how to ski powder and moguls. We had fun skiing together for a couple of years, until I started kicking his butt! Sorry dad, but it's true! He still supported my skiing habit out of the kindness of his heart. So thanks dad, you rock! I spent most of my time freeskiing at a local mountain in Tahoe, then got into racing for a bit but started too late so I sucked! I had always loved watching Warren Miller movies. My heros were Scot Schmidt and Glen Plake. I had always been in awe of the lines and airs that they were skiing off the Palisades at Squaw Valley! I couldn't wait to get over to Squaw and check it out for myself. After ending my short lived career in racing I decided to try my skills at a big mountain comp in Kirkwood. I actually did really well ending up second. My second extreme comp was in Alaska were I was blown away by the insane big mountain lines. I was definitly a fish out of water, but I servived. When I got home I decided that I would get my pass at Squaw next season and really pursue a career in freeskiing. The following year I skied Squaw and met up with lots of filmers and photographers and I actually got a few sponsors, Spyder for one and I've been with them ever since! My move over to squaw was very beneficial. I began to film and shoot photos with well known photographers and I continued to compete and started to win the comps. I threw a back flip off the Palisades where I had watched my idols rip it up back in the day. That was very rewarding! Throughout the years I have jumped over two trains for the films and photos and multiple road gaps. I use to enjoy the park, but after two ACL replacement surgeries I tend to stear clear now. I have decided to stick to what I know best and freeski the big mountains instead. I plane on competing this year and hope to get a good segment in with the Rage film crew. I still absolutely love skiing and I am so greatful to everyone who has helped me along the way! I couldn't have done it without my parents support and my sponsors who have made it all possible!
