Last winter I had to look at the sport of freeskiing from a perspective unfamiliar to me- the sidelines. I blew out my knee on the 20th of January in the half pipe while training for the U.S. Open. I didn't even accept the fact that I was out for the season until I received a surgery date, and from the day after surgery until now it's been constant rehab and an extreme mental trip. I did get to ski Mt. Hood a couple of times around August to give the knee a test and it held up pretty good so that was reassuring. Also, I've been hitting rails and training on the trampolines a little bit just trying to keep a good mentality. I plan on treating this season like any other, including all the contests and doing as much filming as possible to leave this injury in the past and focus on the future.
